Child Protection

All aspects of child safety & care matter.

All poolside helpers, teachers & coaches are CRB checked.

Safeguarding Children Workshops are put on every year; teachers & coaches are expected to attend such a course every three years.

Teachers & coaches may have contact with children who are being harmed.

It is a duty of care to consider if a child appears to have been:

  • physically hurt
  • drugged
  • neglected
  • unsupervised
  • sexually abused
  • emotionally abused

Best practise requires a teacher or coach to seek advise from the Club’s Welfare Officer, to interview the child in the presence of a second adult and if necessary to seek further professional support.
